A box made from jatoba and aspen .
I like the colour combination which created a nice fresh look .
The design is a play of corner splines with a vertical spline added and spacing of the splines .
The top lines are a continuation of the vertical splines and the lid corners are a inlay made from birch bark .
The lid lift is very subtle but works well and the tray is easily removed as the lid opens wide with the barrel /SOSS hinges I used for the first time .
The tray and bottom are lined with a upholstery material .
The tray dividers are simple bent pieces of aspen with a lace wood lift handle .
The box is finished with satin spray lacquer and will get a wax coat when the lacquer has cured .
Hope you like it .

Very nice. You are refining and refining what seems to be becoming a signature style. .......... and a beautiful signature it is!
I like the purity that the aspen brings to this piece. I never thought of it as being that white.

Definitely like this one and your continuous, wrap around design—very attractive and meticulously crafted with great use of contrasting woods. A nice evolution of your vertical end inlays.

Paul and Greg say what I’m thinking about the excellent crafting of your boxes. This one reminds me of rice paper doors.

I like this box. It is bold in it’s dark and light contrast, which is so refreshing and pleasing. Thank you for making my day….......
