Hi guys, so here’s my fret beveling block, easiest one to build so far in my quest to fill the tiny shop with luthier related tools/jigs before I commit to build an electric guitar from zero:D
This block holds the file at 35° to bevel the guitar frets ends, you can see in the last photo how it works.
You also will see in that photo how I went too deep with the table saw groove cut so I had to glue a shim, still need to make that shim a little bit thinner hehee.
Cheers!

This is one of those things I have always said I would make – still using my hand as a guide; maybe this is the spark to get me to make one. You will find it much easier to get consistent bevels with this.
Good work.

I like this jig. Its a simple and looks very useful. I look forward to the finished guitar.

You know, I’ve been beveling frets on my guitars freehand and it shows. I mostly buy cheapie guitars and make them better (but the tone’s all in the hands, right?) :)
That’s some great work right there. I am absolutely stealing this idea! ;)
Thanks man!

Well dang, why didn’t I think of this?
Getting ready to build a Telecaster and also stealing this idea.
Thanks.

No stealing at all as there are several similar versions around hehee, and so easy to build that you can’t justify not making one if you need it ;)
Is it done yet? :D
