My 8 year old daughter is building a table for her bedroom. She found this piece of redwood slab scrap and asked if I could help her inlay a design into it. I craved it out, and she helped me inlay the turquoise. This is going to be her table top…. more pictures to come when we help her finish the base

I would like to hang it on the wall

Very cool – that turquoise really stands out on that wood.

Great father-daughter project! And, my wife really likes it—she looked over, saw it and requested my iPad to take a better look. Way to go!

This was actually a mother- daughter project and we definitely treasure it. I look forward hopefully doing more projects such as this. My husband has always been the one that sands and polishes the turquoise on flat surfaces such as tables, because it can be difficult to keep it very with no dips….

I really took my time sanding down the turquoise and am quite pleased with the outcome. I am sure my son is going to want me to crave something that has to do with hunting

Nice job, I really like the vine design in the corner. What are the dimensions? Just a suggestion but you might want to try malachite inlay for your son’s hunting scene – similar properties to turquoise but a good masculine green color – I can see a Stag or Bear or Fish. Be sure to post a picture for us.

Gorgeous table top! The inlays look amazing with the beautiful wood. Excellent job! Looking forward to the son’s project.
