After looking at many Strum Sticks on the site, I decided to give it a go. My son is an avid guitar player so I thought it might be something he liked. I can’t carry a tune in a bucket so I went at it blind. Had no idea how to tune it or even if it sounded decent once I finished. He loved it, and within a couple of hours had it tuned and was playing songs.

The picture does not do it justice. The sound box is 1/16” tiger maple, the frame is walnut and the fretboard is rosewood.

that looks great, I really want to make one of these for my son, too. Do you have any photos taken during construction?

I didn’t take any other photos, but here is the link I built it from if you’re interested. I also received some advice from fellow lumberjock rdwile a while back. It took me a long time before I decided to start it, but glad I did,

The 2 keys to success.
1) Take the time to make a jig for spreading the frame.
2) Get the fret position right.

Excellent work on that beautiful musical instrument. I’m sure son is happy and proud of it.
