A new case for a guitar amp to loose the inbuilt speak and a whole lot of weight.

The case is a simple plywood box rounded, shaped and drilled to match the original. Then covered with Tolex (which i’ve only ever known used on guitar amps or flight cases).

More photo’s of the covering being applied as well as the construction of the box itself can be found here (though you may have to go back a little way). Also there are some pretty good videos on youtube showing how to do this.

Great job on the amp! I’ve seen people do some pretty sloppy work with Tolex, but yours looks really good! Will you also be building an external speaker cab?

This was done for a client. (He’s in the 4th picture, spreading the glue). His plan is to do a separate speaker cab, though i think that’s something he wants to do himself. This was kind of a stepping stone for him.

Nice crafting and detailing for the case and cover. I think you designed it with carrying it in mind?
