This is a Shaker Sewing table that I took some license with; there is no record that I can find of this juxtaposition of finishes. The base is milk-painted cherry with sliding dovetailed legs, the top is cherry, and the double-sided drawers are tiger maple and pine. A very satisfying piece to make.

I like the mix of painted and natural wood. A very nice piece.

Very attractive table with beautiful tiger maple on the fronts of the drawers.

This is a beautiful piece of furniture, and the mix of paint with the natural wood gives it a bit of “country” flair.
This piece, as well as your other six posts, are all beautiful, and your work is outstanding. I noticed in your posts though that descriptions are limited and I’m curious: what type of finish do you use? Other than the paint of course. What you do is why I started woodworking as a hobby, making American period reproductions, furniture with a timeless beauty that never goes out of style, and made with hand tools to give it that “craftsman” look.
Thanks for posting, very nice work.
