Hello folks

here is a 15” wide burr brown oak bowl that I roughed out in 2010 and finished yesterday!!

-- it can't rain all the time!!

Nice looking bowl. What type of finish did you use?
Also…did you have to wait 3 years for it to dry or did you just now found the time to work on it?
I’m curious I never worked with green wood.

I use lemon oil as a finish in the workshop as it dries fast, can be used for wet sanding, is compatible with any other finish I might want to use over the top of it and stops mucky finger prints/jaw marks staining the bare wood.
drying can depend on the wood your location and the size of the bowl- 12 months is a general rule but some might be ready in 6 months others may need 18 months
