Doing some catchup on small projects I’ve made over the last couple of weeks. Nothing major but still, might provide inspiration somewhere. This is my crosscut sled. Base is 1/2 ply, back fence is a piece of 2×4 and front face is a double-thick piece of particle board that was glued and screwed together. Runners are poplar. As much as I want to like this sled, I don’t and I have a couple reasons why. I will be rebuilding this to fix them.
  • For some reason, the runners bind in the miter slots so it doesn’t run smooth. Not sure why but needs fixing.
  • The sled is larger than the table of my saw and, therefore, hard to deal with. I need to make this smaller.
  • I like how smooth and flat the fence is but it needs to be taller. Not that pretty and only works decently. This will be rebuilt.
