Another fun project using walnut, maple, Zebrawood, and some kind of rosewood
I think.
I couldn’t put a rock on the base because the grain was just too cool. And the Zebra
wood had some interesting edge grain so I combined the lot and came up with
this Suiseki on the ledge.
Several coats of Shellac and we’re good to go.

Stunning. I would appreciate it even more if I had a little background on Suiseki.
Kindly,
Lee

I have a couple of cool looking stones sitting on my workbench that I want to try this on.
I hope they come close to as nice as yours.
Thanks for sharing.

Unique and facinating…on so many levels!

You have some nice elements on this one. Plus I like you unique/non traditional style.

I was in the same boat Eric. I had this cool looking rock and wanted to do something and couldn’t
figure it out until I saw HybridWoodWorker’s Suiseki. Yours will come out just fine and I’m looking
forward to it on the projects page when and if you have a chance.
Thanks Hybrid for the kind words and your inspiration as well.
I appreciate the compliment Shane. I know it’s not traditional but I liked the
way it turned out.
Thank you FishinBo! It took a while to get there, but I’m glad I did.
