My first 3 dimensional free form carving. Ive done some relief carving in the past but nothing quite like this. This project definitely pushed my limits in terms of visualizing and executing a form. Im still surprised something like this came out of my head. Made this for a friend I used to work with. She really liked it :)
Made from a scrap piece of mahogany from a previous project. I turned the bulk of the material away on the lathe and then it was just a couple of carving knives and sand paper. The finish is poly. Thoughts and comments are always welcome. Thanks for looking.

Very nice. According to my opinion, The most attractive view is the up-right photo or the middle-left photo. i would put one of them as the main and the zoom photo – as the third.
on the other hand, I can understand why you choose this one as the main: you put the focus on the most difficult part to carve, and you did it very nice.

That is cool.I like how uniform the twist is. It looks like a twisted piece of square stock!!
