I decided to make a frame for my wife’s favorite map (she picked it up while going to college at Oxford) that has been languishing in a storage box for nigh on 13 years now.
It’s made of poplar and pine and used the router table method described in Steve Ramsey's awesome Youtube video. You’ve got to check out his videos if you don’t already, the guys a genius.
This project was so easy, it almost felt like cheating to make this for her birthday present, but she was blown away and so happy. Now I’m itching to try different bits to get different styles of frames!
For the construction notes and lots of pictures, check out my blog.
Thanks for looking!

Well done Steve V! You took a treasured item out of storage and gave it the place of honor it deserved. The blog was great. Loved the reflection trick! Congrats on the little one on the way! Wood Working for Mere Mortals is a great resource for beginner and experienced alike. Thanks for sharing your incarnation.
