Made this from Ash turned on a mini lathe. I didn’t purchase a billet, but just got a few pieces of three inch thick boards and ripped them down. It is for a friend of my son’s for his birthday. Have made a few more from Maple, but my son and his friends seem to prefer Ash. I finished it with some woodturner’s waterbourne polish purchsed at Woodcraft. The handle was left unfinished so pine tar can be rubbed on for better gripping.

Good looking bats! I’m sure the kid likes it and will get plenty of use. Well done!
