After completing my last project I was already starting this one, it is a Jefferson Book Shelf, the one at his home was on a small table, I decided to use some shaker influence and turn a pedestal for the support of the shelf. The material used for this is walnut, this wood was destined for the chipper/ shredder. All I bought was the birds Eye maple for the inserts. I did not have any plans to speak except for the one I downloaded from a ” Woodwrights Shop” episode, it did not have everything I needed and therefore I made some errors which needed to be adjusted afterwards. All in all it was a fun project to make.

Nice idea, well-crafted project. Is the one leg facing the camera longer than the other two, or is that a depth-of-field trick of the camera optical setting?

I recall seeing the original in Jefferson’s study. If memory serves me correctly, I do believe yours turned out better.
