Well, part of it anyway.
I had done some work on this batch of 25 pens, and decided the 4th of July might be a good day to wrap them up.
These are a mix of Birch, Mahogany, Maple, Oak, and Walnut.
Since I started turning pens, I have done 335+ pens for uniformed service personnel and veterans.
For more info on the Freedom Pens project, and to get involved, see: http://www.freedompens.org
I’m done in time to get in on the family cook-out in the back yard, have a cool brew (or two) and take in tonight’s fireworks!

Joe—Yes, quite a bit actually. I have received emails from soldiers and marines in Afghanistan as well as seamen on ships at sea. Some share more about their experiences than others … it is nice to know that someone appreciates your work.

Great Job as usual Gerry. I haven’t turned any pens yet but when I do I would like to follow your lead in this endeavor.

Nice bunch of pens, Gerry. I hope that you had a good 4th. I took it easy yesterday and watched the 6 part documentary about the American Revolution on the Military Channel. I really enjoyed that.
