gotta start by apologizing for the pictures, but my powder room is so small i had to build this vanity in place and the size really compromised the picture quality too. scrounging around at the local sawmill i came across this figured (tiger striped) maple. i have been saving a burled chunk of walnut for an accent piece, so i broke it out for this project. very simple joinery, .. dovetailed drawers, panel doors (on table saw). i took a minimalist approach to hardware so as not to distract from the wood grains. hand rubbed mixture of thinned down polyurethane and boiled linseed oil that i let soak in and then polished off multiple penetrating layers. gonna use a granite top to finish it off.

Beautiful piece of Black Walnut! I think the simple lines of the “very simple joinery” are most appropriate for this project. Anything too complicated would distract from the beauty of the wood. Nice job!

holy mesmorizing! That is absolutely outstanding. I think anyone that respects woodworking would love sitting on the throne getting lost in the grain. well done you should be proud.
