This project is presented now (during the height of the Northern Hemisphere’s summer) to give you enough time to build one and fill it before winter. :-)
More detail and free plans are available on our web page here .
Our back yard has enough trees to generate a fairly constant supply of firewood. The better quality wood is used in the indoor fireplace. The rest is used in a chimenea in our back yard. When the evenings are cool, dry and fairly wind-free, it is very relaxing to sit by the chimenea – enjoying the fire, warmth and good conversation.

Nice simple, yet effective design.
We had something similar that was washed away by a flood this spring. All my wood and shelter is gone now.
Time to rebuild!
Thanks for posting your plans.

Has a very nice rustic charm. Like the design and the dark wood used. Great job!

The wood appears that attractive darker color due to the preservative. It was a happy accident and has faded little in over three years.
Thanks for the compliment!
