This was my first venture into 2 sided carving. Initially I tried to ‘wing it’ by marking the centre on both sides….LOL…Well after the first two failures to get a good match carving, I used a doweled template to be sure the workpiece was flipped, keeping the centre constant. Boy, That was Easy!!!!!
The shell is made from Poplar, natural finish, several coats of poly.

Wonderful candy dish! Like the shell design and great carving. The finish really made the pretty grains pop. Great job!
