The best sharpening system for woodturning tools, in my view, is this:,43072,52372

If you have some shop time and interest in building your own sharpening system for your turning tools, it is not hard to do so from scraps: To make the arm, attach a V block to the end of a square piece of the desired length. I mounted mine under the grinder platform so I could use the grinder tool rest (to sharpen the skew and parting tool). The bolt is tightened after the arm is properly positioned relative to the roughing or spindle gouge to be sharpened. (Sorry for the last fuzzy pic.)

For bowl gouges, I’ve made this sharpening accessory:

i have the wolverine grinding set-up already. this pdf from fine woodworking makes it easier to make the setup. thanks for posting
