Here is my first acrylic duck call, I know that some people might be mad at me for posting a non wood related project here on Lumberjocks but I thought It would be nice to show off my first acrylic call. I would like some advice on what type of tools i should use on this. I’m thinking about investing in some carbide tools, I’ve heard through the grape vine that they are the best thing when it comes to acrylic. This call has a band around it that I had laser engraved by a pretty well known guy.

I have great results using a reverse grind scraper. I found an old Craftsman round nose scraper and ground a 10 degree angle on the top. It works great. I’m not a fan of the carbide tools on acrylic. Can’t really put my finger on why I don’t like them, if that’s makes any sense. lol. Anyway, if you’re interested, I can take a picture of what I’m talking about so you can see it.
Great work.
