Double Nanny Rocker

Here is a double rocker that four of us built last year at Mike Siemsen’s Woodworking school in Minnesota.
The instructor was named Jim Van Hoven. One of his students actually got this same chair mentioned in Fine Woodworking. In any case, I have moved and I now have a place to photograph my work, so I am catching up.
This chair has room for two with the gate removed, or you can place your baby on the bench and the gate will keep him or her secure. My grandson Phin helped oil and wax it last week. It is going off to my son who is getting married next week. The person turning is also a future son-in-law who made one at the same time.
More coming.

Excellent work, great looking turnings, I always like the narrower coves and bold balusters, hope everybody had a great time. Thanks for sharing.

It’s a marvelous rocker! Great design and execution. Like every fine detail of it especially the spindles. Impressive work!
