This task was “hollowing out green wood”. I made a trough (is it spelled that way?)

It is made of Aspen, this particular tree was old and starting to rot, and also had a nice flamy wood.
The shape meant alot more work had to be put into the exterior, which was worked with carving gouges. It was also quite time consuming to make the inner flats meet in straight lines.

The finish is 4 coats of PU varnish, flattened, then dulled with steel wool, then buffed with beeswax paste.

Like the angular shape, looks like a top of a lamp. The wood looks good as well. Great carving piece!
