This was just a project that I saw someone else doing and decided to try making a design of my own. I had a piece of wood that I had been looking at for about a year and it was the right size for this. I added a little purple heart for the lower rest and finished with dutch oil.

Looks great. A lot better than the metal ones you buy at the music store. Nice grain patterns in the wood

Nice Mike. What type of wood?

Also, how’s the shop? Give my regards to everybody!

Thanks Zelbar, I just wanted to do a fun quick project that I could get a little creative on the shaping.I only had one piece and it wasn’t wide enough to take the full curve so I cut the middle then used the cutout to widen the peice by joining it back. Since I flipped it on the joints the pattern really ended pretty seamless. Snakeye, good to hear from you. The shop is going well, we have a few new woodworkers and a few of the old ones still around so it gets busy once in a while but not too bad. I think the wood was called parrot wood, I honestly have had it too long to remember, but it has a lot of colors running through.

What ever the wood it is beautiful and the design rocks! I like how the stand can be assembled. Give one to someone that plays out and I bet you’ll be making more. Well done.

Beautiful and unique stand! Like the curved design, beautiful wood used and the purple heart adds a nice touch. Guitar players will love it.
