12" Maple Burl

I’ve had this piece of burl in my shop for years waiting until I had a lathe large enough to work it. I’ve had the lathe for 7 months but the wood had gotten lost in the piles of “someday” wood.
It isn’t anything like what I was thinking of making when I first put it on the lathe, but all in all, I think I did an ok job of removing the excess.
Now time to take photography lessons!

Jimnl good job. If you listen the wood will tell you what it wants to be. Then you just remove what don’t look right. Haaa Haaa
