An old buddy of mine asked if I could make a trophy for the dog club he was a member of. They wanted the ability to use it as an annual award and also as a memorial for suitably worthy passed members – this is the result. The lower octagon can accommodate 72 annual award plaques and the upper one 48 memorial plaques. That should cover it for the foreseeable future.

The trophy is 22 inches tall and the lower octagon 13 inches wide point to point. After browsing my precision cutoff assortment I found some walnut for the octagons, curly maple for the accent bits and African blackwood for the feet – the doggy was provided. Finish is several coats of hand rubbed polymerized tung oil.

Kool build. You’ll be able to put others on those ledges.
