These Star of David puzzles are patterned after better ones by Bob (at http://lumberjocks.com/projects/61701). Mine are of oak & poplar, oil-finished, < 4.75” in diameter. Photo 1 is of one star partially slid open (l.) & one fully closed (r.). Photo 2 has the six pieces of a star surrounding the closed star puzzle. Many thanks to Bob for generously sending me additional clues. This exercise added to a bag of wood puzzles & games I share with a lovely group of 4th grade urban students. They’re mostly children of refugees (from Africa, Nepal & the Near East). I engage them in conversation to improve their fluency in English. For me, such volunteering is great fun, easy & an exhilarating work in progress.

That’s fun and cute puzzles. What you do is a great cause and an inspiration. You make the world of those kids a better place to live in.

Bob,
These look fantastic!
It was my honor to share the plans and building tips with you – especially knowing who would be using them!
While not easy to make, they are fun!
Cheers!
