Have you ever needed to just take some time off and think. Thinking is kind of hard for me anyway. I haven’t posted anything for a few weeks because of that and a weeks vacation in our camper. Feel better now and ready to get back to woodwerking.
I finished this bowl a couple of weeks ago and it is the first bowl that hasn’t cracked somewhere. Not even any fine cracks. It was turned in Feb and dried for a little over a month in a paper sack. This bowl also taught me that a sharp tool werks much better on dry wood. My learning curve is so long it’s almost flat.
I have about three more bowls that I turned in Feb and early Mar. I semi finished turning them the same time as this one but I need to go back and touch them up on the lathe then I will post them.
The bowl is made from pecan and finished with Salad bowl finish. It is 10” x 4”.
