This is by far my largest project to date. It was custom fit to the space and his equipment. Scored the doors from a kitchen cabinet store that was relocating and didn’t need the doors any more. Plywood sides with poplar face frames. Stained minwax Ebony and 2 coats of poly over that. I bought the blum short hinges and from the info I got here was able to install them without having to buy a jig. Made a quick plywood jig to mark the holes.

Pat, thinking its time to remove that “Rookie” tag line! This is a beautiful piece! And for family!

Thanks alot guys, appreciate the replies. David, my Marc loves it, all his equipment fits perfectly. I even build in a sliding shelf for one of the gaming systems so he can load the games.

Mark, I have a LONG way to go before I think of myself of an accomplished woodworker. I wish to build things with flowing lines like Benji, but don’t even know where to start a project like that.

There is a brand new woodworking club starting up in my area and I’ll be going to my first meeting in a couple of days. I hope this 1 on 1 face time will really help me get further along.

North Jersey Woodworkers Association [email protected]
The North Jersey Woodworkers Association woodworking club has been established. The club is made up of local woodworkers of ALL skill levels & interests, amateur & professional alike. Members can meet to enjoy, learn, exchange ideas, and share their interest in woodworking with others. Each month a featured woodworking related topic is presented by an interesting guest speaker. A guest speaker is scheduled for the April 15 meeting. The club meets in Clifton on the 3rd Monday of each month, 7-9:30 PM, at the Allwood Community Church. For more info reply here through CL. (A club website will be established soon.)
