Project Information

I needed to cover a window opening for more privacy. But i wanted to let as much light in as possible. So i came up with this craftsman style frame. It's red oak that i recycled from a desk top that was thrown out in the trash. It's and easy construction of half lap joints. The square pegs go al the way through giving it extra strength, but really it's mostly for the cosmetic looks.
The stain glass isn't really stain glass. It's a window film covering i picked up at Home Depot. And it's not even on glass. It's a fluorscent lens panel. Cheap and easy.
I'll post the video of how i made it. It shows two way of making the half lap joint. With power tools, and by hand tools.
Hope you enjoy it.

I know. People can't even tell until they touch it. Not to mention, it look awesome whenthe sunlight is shinning through it.

Beautiful and great solution! Like it very much, very creative. The colors on lens go well with the frame.
