Cutting boards for auction

The local high school was raising monies for stage curtains. I made a couple of cutting boards and donated them for an auction.
The first one some of you may recognize from the cover of Poco’s Legend album released in 1978. One of my favorite songs, “Crazy Love” is featured. I used old fashioned carbon paper (yep still got some), transferred it on the wood then free-hand routed the image. Then I filled with black sand with ca glue and sanded accordingly.
The second board a made for a particular person that I knew was crazy about M&M collectables. My intent was to get her to bid high; it worked, hehe.

Both boards are solid birch with a mineral oil finish.
Thanks for viewing.

I recognized that image immediately. I really like that song, too. And a fantastic cutting board. I am not familiar with the sand an CA glue technique. Now I am really intrigued.

I’m off to blow the dust off of my Poco album and fire up the turn table…

Cool projects…. and I agree that it was generous of you to contribute them for the auction. Nice work!

-- I just got done cutting three boards and all four of them were too short. (true story)

I like both, but I have to say the M&M one is my favorite chocolate. :) Did you paint it?
