A little while back I saw some other woodworker make something like this and I can not remember or find his posting to give him credit.
I have now made three of these, the first Poplar, then Cedar, and lastly Oak. I remember the guy who I saw originally made this used “rare earth magents”, for me I used a simple ceramic magnets you can pick up at any store. The 2 magnets held the Poplar and Cedar up with paper(s) in it fine, but 2 magnets will NOT hold up Oak…it just slides down the fridge’s wall.
For the dimensions…it gets too confusing (for me) so I will create a sketchup and post it later.
After making three of these I have learned that the ‘push stick’ is held to close to the back piece making it difficult to slide a paper between it and the back. I have thought of a way to solve this without changing (for the most part) the how it looks from the front. I will try it and include this solution, if it works, on the sketchup design.
For this construction I went the easy way out, just to see if this actually worked, and since it does work I am thinking of useing dowel joiner to add more beauty to the front.

That is pretty neat. Something to make for gifts or auctions. Which I will probably make one for our family reunion auction.
-- That was not wormy wood when I started working on it.
