My daughter tore the image of a cat from black construction paper for a school art project. I like it a lot and thought it deserved to be framed. I decided to do it in her school colors, black and orange.
I mounted the image on a sheet of orange construction paper then mounted that on orange mat board.
I built a simple frame with wood I had in the scrap bin in the shop. Primed it then painted it orange and finally covered that with black paint. I sanded through the black so that a little orange shows through and gives it a bit of a rustic look.
Then I mounted a vibration sensitive led light in the back of the frame. Tap the frame and the light comes on for about 30 seconds. My wife thinks the house may be haunted because she swears the frame sometimes lights up in the middle of the night.
Simple little project that lets me see my daughter’s artistic handy work on a daily basis.
Thanks for looking.

Great and cool idea! Like the design and the effect of the lights. Daughter will be proud.
