First, to make this piece I traveled to junk yards, antique shop and flea markets to acquire all the needed parts to make this whimsical piece. I found the fan on a stand which works . The oscillator is out. I then took a surveyors staff and a metal edge straightedge and assembled them with dowels to look like a bi plane. I then took small wires and attatched for guidwires with small led undercounter lights under the wing. I then took some flashing and bent into a cone for the tail section. I fashioned a tail out of and old 11/2’’ wide ruler with one nail for the moveable tail section. I then stained the painted tail to antique it . The other plane is all metal . It ’s wings are shear blades as well as tail. All this and Heaven too.

Now that is art with function! I like the plane or fan, with the wings made out of cutterbar sections. Love it!

Outstanding! Idea and build. Having once earned my living as a flight instructor these especially appeal to me. Both are great….. and the metal one is just plain over the top. These ‘needed’ to be made.
