Here is a project that a customer wished. Shadow Box Coffee Table crafted using Hard Maple and is finish sanded and ready for stain and/or finish. I have no idea what finsh the customer will use.

The measurements are 22 1/8” wide x 43” long x 18 ½” high. It is designed to be used with a ¼” shatter proof glass top with ground edges, not supplied, but readily available at local glass companies. The glass would sit on of wood frame top with thin clear non slip spacers to insure the glass will not slide. Customer opted to cover top with full class rather than recessed into the top with hinges to protect items being displayed from drink spills.

There are pins to hold the wood frame top in place on the base one on each of the four legs. There four recessed receivers in the back side of the table top frame to accept the pins. Once the glass is placed on the wood frame top, the wood frame top is used to lift glass to access the shadow box.

The wood frame top has a beaded trim to create the allusion of picture frame which directs attention to items being displayed inside.

The depth of the shadow box is approximately 5 ½” but can be adjusted by using a false bottom with height spacers to raise the bottom should you wish to display smaller items.

This piece is designed to display memorabilia, collectables or for seasonal decoration. Have about six hours into it and about $95 in materials.

Looks good, it’s amazing how it will really come to life once it is finished and all the personal items are added.
