Dual purpose Childs Step Stool-Seat

Over the years, I have made over two dozen of these, and gave them to grandchildren, and friends of the family. When in step stool mode, they are handy in assisting little tykes up to the sink to brush teeth and such, and in the stool phase, lets the little ones pull up a chair and watch their favorite TV programs. This particular one is made from solid cherry with maple dowel rods for the supporting bracing, and chair stop, along with maple plugs covering the screw holes. The first step is about 2&5/8” from the floor, by 14 ” long and the seat is 5”high X 12” wide.

Great job on this little stool Don. I love Cherry and the Maple plugs these two wood types go together well.

Wow! That brings back memories, we had one of those when I was a kid. Though not nearly as nice looking! Very nicely done

Very nice, I like the idea of dual purpose. Cherry and maple are always a nice combo. Will have to do one of these for our great granddaughter, she’s about to turn 2.

Sorry this is so late, I should have done this the other day but there was a reason.
I love the idea and design, and as the others have said, what a great combination of timbers.
Thanks for showing.

-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.

Have your say...
