All your signs look great! I especially like the font variety and style that you use. What are you using to create these?

Hi, thanks for your comments. I use a computer program that can make banner signs, like Print Shop. I just choose a font style that goes with the message and spirit of the sign, adjust it to the right size to fit the board then print it in color book mode. The just prints the outline of the letters to save ink on the big projects. I use carbon paper to transfer the letters to the board then choose an appropriate bit, straight cut, v-groove or round bottom and just follow my marks.

I do this project with my students in general shop class during the router safety and use unit. Some kids take to it well, others have no hand-eye coordination what so ever. I might have to order some cedar and let the kids work on that rather than just pine or poplar. Certainly would make the shop smell good!

Great pics and signs….your giving me lots of ideas. I own and operate a small sawmill and have lots of cut offs that would work for signs.
