Completed March 2011. Satellite speakers must be located in specific zones to get the most from their sound. I designed these simple speaker shelves to place two of the three speakers as discretely as possible. (The third speaker is located on a book shelf.) The shelf surface is a piece of 3/8” Baltic birch plywood cut to the shape of the speakers. The frame pieces are 1/4” thick aluminum that I hammered to 90 degrees in a metal vice. The unit is spray painted black. I like this utilitarian design.

Great build on them, very effective and neat. They look just part of the speakers, as if the speakers are floating. Great job!

Thanks. It’s not much of a woodworking project, but it is a clean design. I’ve placed these speakers on simple dovetail shelves in other houses. However, I left them in the last house when I sold it. That was easier than plugging the screw holes and speaker wire outlet.
