My wife wanted to get rid of the spice rack we had on the wall. I found this project in a 2004 issue of Workbench Magazine. They are under-cabinet drawers that tilt down. Their construction was very simple; only some basic dados and rabbets. All held together with screws.
There are divider slats that slide into the drawers. I actually removed them because I could fit more spices in them.
I only had one kind of white on hand and took a gamble that it would match. It turned out slightly more grey than I was hoping, but you don’t really notice it and my wife is ok with it.

What a great idea….the way my wife loves to cook (and yea, I love to eat it) she would need about 6 of these drawers for all her spices.

Real nice, handy project. How did you actually attach it to them original cabinet?

The cabinet had a .75” recess in the bottom, which is common for cabinets. I put some .75 inch stock up in there, screwing from above, and then attached the new drawers to the scraps by screwing through the hardboard.
This was a quick project and I didn’t take a lot of time on the measurements. As a result, the drawers are rather tight. In the future I may remedy this by placing a spreader-type bar underneath the drawers to spread the exterior rails out a bit. Or I may just make new side rails and put them in. Since nothing is glued together I can take the whole thing apart and redo a piece if needed.
