This months president’s challenge for our turning club was to turn a kitchen utensil ( Not a bowl ) constest. I searched the net and found a spatula that I like and turned this from cherry board. I chucked the board in the lathe and turned the handle and then shaped the spatula part on the band saw. Some sanding and mineral oil finish to compete the project and I now have a nice utensil for the kitchen. 15 1/2” long, 2 1/4” wide.
The nice thing about being in the club is they come up with ways to try different things on the lathe, plus they are a GREAT bunch to hang out with. We all have good time at the meetings. Thanks for looking.

Uh… yeah, well…. that looks a whole lot like the ‘paddle’ that was used on me (regularly) as a kid. Actually, it looks like just the thing for scrambled eggs. I would have never thought to ‘turn’ a spatula.
