my mom requested this for her birthday
it was a good carving project, didn’t take me a really long time
i suppose i could of used a router with a jig, but i didn’t have a proper bit, or the patience to set up a jig
made of pine, sanded to 320, stained with medium walnut danish oil
and finished with 2 coats of satin spray on polyurethane
little rough around the edges but thats kind of the effect i was going for

Thanks for looking,

One of our favorite family games… on my list of things to make. I like the rustic look of yours, would go great with some natural stones if you can find them. Nice job!

Very nice – I will echo John in saying that the rustic, hand-made look suits this piece well. If you research this game you will see that the playing surface was originally scratched into the dirt and then carved into flattened logs.

Great build!

We love this game, have multiple boards, some store bought, some home made. Yours looks great, looks very authentic!
