makeup table i made for my wife. budget was a bit of a priority on this one. so i made the top out of melamine (cause it was cheap, and the trays would slide in and out easily). the trays were made with scrap wood, and i used acrylic for the bottoms of the trays. the glass for the top came off an old tv stand (had a glass door). i was going to purchase some acrylic for the top, but that was going to be pretty expensive. the bottom is poplar and is not finished yet.
i made this table because she needed storage (she’s a makeup fanatic), and i made it this way so she could easily see all of her products (the glass top). she went bonkers when she first saw it, so it was well worth anything i put into it. had my budget not been so tight, i would have used different materials, but probably would have kept the concept the same. all in all very pleased with this one.
i also leared a great deal about working with acrylic, shaping and cutting, etc.
