My Daughter, Marcia commented that she wanted some “rustic’ end tables for their lake cabin, sooooo this is what I came up with. Originally for Xmas but that got moved up a few days, so they got changed to a Birthday present. Wood is black Walnut that I bought almost a whole tree from a guy in Wis. To finish the top I used a coat of Sysem 3 Epoxy & squeegeed it off smooth to seal the wood pores, then about 4 coats of Min-wax Poly with sanding between each coat, a final sanding with 800 grit & random orbital sander, then a power buff with MMM automotive compound. They turned out better than I ever expected. She was very pleased & suprised…................Jack

Yeah, those are great. I especially like the way you did the “raw” edge. And, they are actually functional. So many end tables are not, save for the top. Finish was a lot of work, but it looks like it really paid off.

Oh, I like these, the “live edge” does not over power the rest of the table, and your choice of design on the legs and feet make it a statement of visual originality.
BTW that grain really POP’s …
