Hello Lumberjocks. Here’s a couple bowls made from spalted tamarind and cutting board scraps. I got a new hollowing tool so I had to try it out. I figured this pile of scraps would be the perfect trial. It’s different! The end grain part of it really sucked to sand. It is finished with wax & mineral oil. I may sand it down and try something else. I got the idea from a turner on youtube, but mine never seem to look that good. The spalted bowl is finished with high gloss lacquer. The lip on this one is sharper than you might think. I actually cut my thumb on it while sanding!

Nice, makes a interesting piece with the use of various scraps. Cool design.

Like them both. The shapes are beautiful and the pattern as well specially the spalted one.

Have your say...
