That was one heck of a challenge to take on for your first piece. You did good. I love the colors you chose. They look great. I know I took on a big challenge making mine. I think a little more shaping and it would be awsome. That is something I struggle with to, is the shapping on some of my projects.

Your pieces at least fit together. I thought they would have fit better and I do not know where I went wrong. But, I think it gave it depth. I tried to fill the gaps with sawdust and it didnt work.

I used dowels instead of the screws. Did you use the screws?

Congrats on your first try at intarsia. Looks like you did a great job. I haven't had the nerve to try it yet. Can't wait the see the next project.

I do not know if 'intarsia' is going to be my thing. I wouldnt mind being proficient at it, but I do not think it is going to be my calling.

It was surely interesting for me. I even sought the advice of the pattern maker. She was gracious enough to give me her 2 pennies.

Thanks for the great words~

This is beautiful! I don't see a thing wrong with the fit. I have yet to tackle intarsia.
