One of my grand-daughters wanted to go on a humanitarian trip to a poor village in Borneo to assist the villagers in a number of ways. Tashi worked 2 part-time jobs all year while doing year 10 at school but was falling short on money and by September looked like not making it. Cost $6,000 and if you don’t reach the $6,000 you forfeit what you have paid to date.
I designed and made a batch of the trivets on the (then a new addition to the workshop) scroll saw for her and family and friends to sell and she consequently raised a lot of money at very little cost other than time, since much of the timber was red pine from a building job years ago and when that ran out I used radiata pine which is cheap. Sold most before Christmas as gifts for overseas friends and she had a very successful trip.

Really well done to help like that Milton, and as we all know, everybody likes Australia, so success on both counts!
