Here are a few sword stands I’ve made. All for myself- thus allowing me to forgive the flaws such as a totally botched finish on the table top one. I still have no idea how I got it so wrong, but rather than sand the piece down I decided to “distress” it a bunch… yeah, that works. I did the same finish on the rests and it came out right. I’ve made a couple more of the vertical wall mounted type but no good pics to show. And there’s the standard design seen for sale everywhere, but with sturdier wood.

Monte- ‘Tis very true what you say; if I didn’t learn from making mistakes I might never learn at all.

BT- I found LJ around the same time you posted a link to it on SBG- very fortuitous. I’m trying to soak it all in and settle in slowly, and I am qucikly realizing I need better woods
