I made this jewelry box for my sister, who was married on a beach in Hawaii this summer. I decided to use an ocean theme to match the occasion. This box is curly maple and purpleheart. I hand carved the starfish on top out of curly maple. The top tray is lined with paua abalone veneer and the pull is made out of a piece of coral from the beach my sister was married on.

Gorgeous box! Great wood and joinery, like the ocean theme especially the carved star and the pretty pull.

A 10 out of 10 on this jewelry box, like the abalone veneer look a lot.
