This is my second desktop humidor I made for a friend. He wanted a humidor to match his dresser, so I made the body out of oak stained golden to match his dresser and the top is padauk. He is a sportsman so I made the lock escutcheon out of a .30-30 shell. The base is solid granite and it is lined with 1/4” spanish cedar. The mitered corners are reinforced with brass pins. This was my first time mortising a lock and I realized quickly that I need better tools. My skills and shop will grow.

Always good to get new tools. Nice job.
