One of my cousin’s daughter posted a pic on FB of a shelf unit made from an old pallet. I usually cringe when I see how some really fine wood can be made into future garage sale materials, I call it tortured pine. But since this involved recycling and it was somewhat cool I was ok with it. I scouted around work for a nice pallet and couldn’t find one. In the Breedlove family tradition of making what we can’t find, I headed out to the old woodpile. Had some nice reclaimed, rough sawn walnut. Two hours later I now have a place to put a few books and store some of the wood samples I use in showing cusotmers what is available. I guess you can teach a old dog new tricks.

I like yours a lot better – that is some nice looking walnut.
