Wow! It’s been a long time since I have been on this site!
Made this racing simulator with three pieces of 2×4’s and a piece of plywood.
I love playing Forza 4 on my Xbox 360 but I hated the hassle of setting up my steering wheel and pedals everytime. My family said I should make something…so I did!
No plans…just fun!
Figured what size of a base I needed then went out and bought some 2×4’s (already had a scrap piece of plywood). I went out to my local ‘Pick A Part’ yard and found this seat for $50. After mounting the seat I figured where the pedals and steering wheel would go, built them, then mounted them to the base. The platform for the steering wheel tilts and the seat is adjustable.
Bought the seat cover at Walmart and the paint, felt, u-bolts and casters at Home Depot.
There’s a cut out in the front of the base to place my hand in and lift. The casters mounted on the back of the base engage when the base is lifted. This way I can roll it out of the living room and into the closet when not in use.
Not bad for under $100!

Pretty slick. Now that’s thinking outside the box
Did you incorporate stabilizers so it doesn’t tip over in a tight turn? Have fun with it.

Sweet! I’ve been wanting to do something like this to use with my 360, but wouldn’t have anywhere to store it so I’m stuck playing Forza Horizon with the remote. Someday, maybe. lol, But then I’d have to fight the kids for it! LOL

That is too cool John! I have the X-Box steering wheel and hated having it clamped to a t.v. tray. If I start playing with it again I might have to build one of those!

I’m not a gamer but for the price this beats the heck outta some of the commercially built game chairs I’ve seen.
Great job!
