After many year of looking at the builders fireplace surround, my wife convinced me to build a new one. I also had an efficient gas fire box put it. I ran a switched electrical outlet on one end so my wife could light up her decorations. It turned out pretty good. In some of the pictures you can see a built-in entertainment center I also made. I will post that eventually too. I tried to answer some comments but as of yet I wasn’t allowed to…lol! Still trying to figure out the website. Thanks for looking. I see that there are many talented woodworkers out there.

Very nice! Going to do the same very soon. I love the ceiling crown/trim idea. Would you mind telling me what you did for that? For example, which mill designs did you use to come up with that effect? Thank you, and thanks for posting. Amazing detail and elegant look. Very slick!
